Its almost time readers! Everyone in the UK wishing their lives away, praying for next weekend to arrive…is it because we all celebrate the birth of our Lord, or because we get nearly two weeks off work?…tough one I know!
I’m actually looking forward to 8 January myself…off to see Kylie baby! Second time I’ve been to see Kylie, first time was in May last year, just before she discovered she had breast cancer (support the charity http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/breastcancer/) and I am not ashamed to say that when she came on, I got so excited, I wept! This time around, we’re 8 rows from the front and will be screaming like a couple of big jessies, cant wait. Will tell you all about it after the show.
I’ve been digging around, searching for the latest hotel openings as usual and one hotel that I am delighted to see has received a great deal of TLC is a neighbour of ours in Rye. The George Hotel (www.thegeorgeinrye.com) has recently undergone a major refurbishment. The oldest hotel in Rye, dating back to 1575, which had sadly suffered almost 20 years of neglect, has been transformed into the most stunning little property. Owners Alex and Katie Clarke, have worked wonders on the hotel, but have managed to retain the best of the character and architecture, they have revolutionised the accommodation, restaurant and service to make it one of the finest boutique hotels on the South Coast.
Because of the house’s unconventional layout, each room has a character of its own; the repeat visitor should aim at sampling all of them! All rooms have a sophisticated contemporary feel, The Dining Room serves exquisite Mediterranean dishes and the bar is so comfortable your backside will be attached to the chair before you know it…. a chic retreat indeed.
The George is represented by a very nice chap called Jonathan White. Jonathans company Workham Marketing (http://www.workham.com/) has a very diverse venue portfolio including the extraordinary Royal Courts of Justice in Central London, one of the last great Gothic revival Buildings in England. For an evening event, the courts are stunning. We also worked very closely with Jonathan on one of our recent events in Punta Cana. We used the Occidental Hotel, represented by Workham and the event was such a success our client has booked again for next year! Believe me, this rarely happens these days, so thank you Occidental Punta Cana!
Thats it for this year dear readers, I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a loved up New Year
Take care for now
