A very belated Happy New Year all. I too began the year at the Fat Boy Slim gig (like half the office) http://www.fatboyslim.net/start.htm?x=3 - Karen and I chose to ditch the men for the day and spend the day in Brighton together! Started very well beautiful sunshine… then a light lunch posing at the Marina (as we like to do!) then this changed……. after suffering Karens continual moaning with the walk from the Marina to Madeira Drive…. the heavens opened! This started as quite good fun jumping up and down in the horizontal rain, random dance moves at each other… then my jeans, coat, hat, socks, shoes and everything else began to absorb the rain this then meant that everything became ten times smaller and tighter (not attractive - believe me) so we decided after 25 minutes that this was no longer fun and made our way home! I will point out that this was my first “gig” and expected it to be total chaos but for those like me and want to try new things this was so well organised and you felt totally safe at all times - Fat Boy Slim has received some very bad press in previous years for this event and this has now totally changed. Some people may say I am bias because Dan (my soon to be husband!!!!) was also at the event in a work capacity http://www.sussex.police.uk/news_feed/index.aspuniqueid=19190 - I will definitely do this again if he returns to Brighton in the Summer!
Later that week Alex and I were two of the lucky ones who got tickets to the Kylie Showgirl Tour at Wembley, http://www.kylie.com/ it was truly amazing and we were both so near the front! We made sure we got there early and decided to crash in the Wembley Plaza bar for the afternoon before heading to the concert. The Wembley Plaza is in very much need of a refurb at the mo but the staff are very friendly and the service is also good http://www.hilton.co.uk/Wembley
On another note, only 6 more working days left until Dan and I fly out to Malaysia for our wedding - we are starting off in Kuala Lumpur staying at the Mandarin Oriental for 3 nights http://www.mandarinoriental.com/hotel/516000045.asp then have a further 8 nights at the wedding venue Tanjung Rhu (voted 94th in the 2006 Trip Advisor Awards!!!) http://www.tripadvisor.com/ - I am getting a little excited now. The Hen Night is planned for this Friday and we are all hitting the town - this seems to have taken considerably more organising than the actual wedding! If you see a group of very attractive ladies (and Alex) in the town centre - thats us so watch out!!!
Thats the update from Penny - see you next week! X
