This is the second instalment to my wedding trip.
After 4 fabulous days in KL we then headed to the Malaysian Island of Langkawi. Langkawi is the most beautiful destination I have ever been to, totally unspoilt and not over developed unlike Phuket & Phi Phi. If you are looking for a great holiday destination which is very reasonably priced Langkawi is perfect. Dan and I visited Langkawi last year for a holiday and returned here to get married (we never go to the same country twice let alone the same hotel!) Our wedding was more than I could have ever wished for – they only do one or two wedding a month so you are totally treated like royalty within the hotel. We stayed at the Tanjung Rhu Resort http://www.tanjungrhu.com.my/index.htm which is like a hotel inside the Eden Project; it has a jungle feel about it with hundreds of birds, flowers and tropical plants. The hotel has 137 bedrooms, many pools, a la carte restaurants and a gorgeous Spa! It is situated on a huge stretch of private beach - perfect for sailing and snorkelling. I would 100% recommend this hotel for a wedding, honeymoon or just the perfect get away from it all.
Whilst we were there the Tour de Langkawi was on, Dan is a keen sportsman and was therefore thrilled I had chosen the right week! http://www.ltdl.com.my/
Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 celebrates it’s 12th year race is an annual cycling race which is held in Malaysia, it attracts high profile teams and riders from the top international professional cycling field. It is a ten day event which starts in Langkawi and finishes in central Kuala Lumpur. On returning home we have both since brought bikes - not sure if he wants to have a bash at the Tour de France or just wants me to lose those holiday pounds! http://www.letour.fr/
Now back to normality – sat at my desk Friday afternoon……..roll on le weekend!
Over and out!
