At last one of the major conference centres has listened to the event planners and decided to offer WIFI as a completely free service. Congratulations to Glasgow’s SECC for for making the step which all conference and event managers will welcome.

The days of WIFI being an add on at an event are gone. It’s as important to most events as lights and heating, and should be included free of charge at every hotel and conference centre.

Conference Centres are particularly guilty and this year I have been charged anywhere between £150 - £299 per connection. This is a staggering amount and totally unjustified.

Let’s hope that other venues catch up soon.
