As the newest member of the Venue Finding team, I joined in October 2017 after an eighteen-month jaunt around South-East Asia and Australia. Having worked in a variety of industries including retail, hospitality, event admin and even farming (I can’t look at a watermelon or pumpkin without a slight feeling of resentment), I knew that Events was the industry I wanted to get into.

With a brief spell working within the Hotel industry, I worked in a luxury lodge in the Australian Outback – slightly different from the Hotels here, having to remove snakes, frogs and huntsmen spiders from the guest’s lodges, and dodging the odd buffalo on our cleaning rounds. But all my previous roles have had the same focal point – putting the customer first, which is one of the main values of The Conference People and one of the reasons I love my job. Within the Venue finding team I’ve had the opportunity to source venues from all over the country and parts of Europe for a wide variety of different events, tailoring each proposal to the client and being able to offer a truly personal service.

With a penchant for all things travel related, when I’m not in the office I’m always looking for my next adventure, whether that be signing my life away for the Three Peaks Challenge or booking a solo backpacking trip somewhere; it’s fair to say I’m the one with the itchy feet (figuratively speaking of course). The next few things waiting to be ticked off my bucket list are climbing Kilimanjaro, visiting Machu Picchu and swimming with Whale Sharks whilst island hopping round the Philippines. However, travel isn’t my only passion - I’m also a major foodie with a slight obsession with avocado’s (typical millennial) and anything spicy!
