I have worked for The Conference People for over 18 years now. I went to university in Portsmouth and studied Business, and when I returned home, I had no idea what I wanted to do but saw a job advertised as an admin assistant to the event management depart, this was a great start to my career and gave me an insight into what the hospitality industry was all about. After a couple of years, I moved into the venue finding team this was a new challenge and gave another dimension to this amazing industry that we work in, over the years I have worked my way up to Venue Finding Manager and where I now head up an incredible team. Little did I know that when I went for my first interview here I would end up being in a job that I absolutely love, especially as I am still learning daily and every day is different all these years later.

Before I started working for The Conference People I had not done much travelling but can safely say that I have had the privilege to stay and visit so many amazing places, including Monte Carlo, Rome, Miami, Las Vegas to name but just a few. One of my most favourite hotels that I have ever stayed in was the Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich, a beautiful setting, the accommodation was one of the first hotels that I had stayed in where everything within the room was controlled by a remote control, one of the first of its kind.

Since starting at The Conference People I have some great memories, one that will stick out in my mind, was attending a fam trip to Monte Carlo where I was invited to celebrate 30 years of the International Circus Festival, in the evening there was a party where Albert II, Prince of Monaco attended, we ended up on the dance floor at the same time dancing to ‘It’s Raining Men’ by The Weather Girls – I can’t wait to see where the next 20 years take me on this amazing work journey.

Outside of work, our preferred holiday destinations are skiing through the Dolomites in Italy or going for caravan holidays in the New Forest. I do also have a three-year-old daughter, she is certainly one to keep me entertained and, on my toes, my husband and I love taking her on bike rides or walking our dog through the woods, over the downs or on the beach, not many people can say they have all of this on their doorstep, one of the reasons why we love Eastbourne so much!
