Imagine this, it's a typical Thursday afternoon in the office - I'm trying to get my inbox down to a healthy number of emails before the weekend begins so I don't have so much to deal with once Monday arrives again, when an invitation arrives for a weekend stay at The Langham, London. Who would be silly enough to turn that down?

After a long day of site visits around London, I arrived at the hotel.Upon check in I was told that during my stay I would have access to The Club Lounge, which meant I could enjoy a fully appointed butler service and private check-in with a glass (or five) of champagne. After a few too many glasses of fizz, and a sampling of the delicious afternoon tea I was shown to my room. I then made my way to Artesian, a fabulous award winning bar and then to Roux at The Landau for a delicious meal! At this point I should have gone up to bed, but of course I didn't - I went to The Wigmore for one of the best G&T's I have ever had in my life!

After a few hours of sleep, I dragged myself out of bed and went for breakfast at Palm Court. There are two breakfast options at the hotel; Palm Court and Roux at The Landau and as I was staying for two nights I decided I would do breakfast at both during my stay. Palm Court was beautiful, it was a buffet style breakfast whereas Roux at The Landau was an à la carte serving.

After breakfast we did a quick visit to the meeting space and then made our way to Sauce, the cook school. This was by far my favourite part of the weekend! Chris King, the executive chef at The Langham, London taught us how to cook sea bream with artichokes and raspberry souffle. We then enjoyed our creations over a few glasses of wine!

After lunch, the rest of the day was ours! So I decided to go and watch the Chelsea vs Sheff Utd for the afternoon, and then do a little shopping in oxford street on my way back.

Once back in the hotel, I decided to check out The Chuan Health Club at the hotel and go for a little swim, if you didn't know before the swimming pool at the hotel used to be a large bank vault!

I then spent the rest of my evening at The Club Lounge where I consumed a few more glasses of champagne and enjoyed a delicious selection of food offerings from from Roux at The Landau. After a wonderful nights sleep I had breakfast and checked out. I then made my way back home to Eastbourne and back to reality...

Thanks so much to The Langham, London for the fabulous weekend!
