The Conference People get JISC Thinking Green!
Sustainable Events Specialists, The Conference People, gave staff from Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) Regional Support Centres some food for thought at the recent annual meeting of Administrators and Event Co-ordinators . As part of their ongoing “Green Thinking” campaign, TCP’s Events Director Matthew Wilson presented JISC’s event planners with some simple and creative ideas to help reduce the Social, Environmental and Economic impact of their events.
Sharon Burton from JISC RSC London said, “The presentation was a real eye opener for us, we’re really trying to reduce the carbon footprint of the events we manage and tapping into
The Conference People’s expertise was a great starting point for us”. JISC manage hundreds of events nationally each year, reaching thousands of delegates. The presentation focussed on Pre-Event Management, Transport, Catering, Venues and On-Site Event Management, with The Conference People passing on their years of event management expertise along the way, as well as highlighting some of the key “Green Venues” among their Venue Finding database of over 30,000 venues UK and Worldwide.
Matthew Wilson from The Conference People commented “We take great pleasure in passing on our experience of managing sustainable events; the days are gone when sustainability compromised quality. You can now have a great green event that’s professional, creative and engaging”.
