Hello! Jacqui here.... you may or may not have noticed I celebrated my birthday a couple of weeks ago (I wasn't in the office - I don't work on my birthday - haven't done for the past 18 years.....!) and for a little treat, our wonderful Elite Hotels Account Manager sorted out a night away at the sumptuous Ashdown Park Hotel for myself and my family.

After a smooth check-in, the concierge took us in a Golf Buggy and were taken up to our room, which was a Fairway Studio Suite, situated overlooking the golf course and next to the Country Club. My cjildren were utterly delighted to see a herd of about 20 or so deer walking across the golf course when we looked out of the doors to our room. The Fairway rooms have recently been refurbished, and are really lovely. They are bright, airy and most importantly, a very good size and comfortable. There was plenty of room for the four of us.

Whilst my family went to check out the swimming pool, I had a show round of the hotel's facilities. Ashdown Park has one of my all time favourite rooms; the magnificent Harry Clarke Suite which is the converted Chapel. The stained glass windows are stunning, especially with the afternoon sun streaming in. The room can comfortably seat 150 for a dinner, or 160 theatre style.

We had dinner in the two AA rosette Anderida Restaurant which was sublime! The food was just delicious and the service impeccable - in fact the staff at the hotel were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble - and we were really well looked after.
